Men's and women's Chapkas and Toques in Paris

Which hat or cap model should you choose?
A fur piece is often distinctive: there are most often toques or chapkas. The chapka is a model that can be worn with the ears lowered or raised, it's up to you. The toque is sometimes more feminine, it's a deep skullcap that is worn straight. Finally, there are toques with a more Russian shape, made of coffee beans, suitable for men.
The choice of a chapka or a toque depends largely on the personal style and preferences of each man and woman. The fur hat is a classic and timeless style that offers excellent protection against the cold. For women, the hat can add a touch of glamour to their outfit. For men, the hat can have a more sporty feel, sometimes better suited to those with a more active lifestyle! The leather hat is a trendy and modern option that can be worn with a variety of outfits. Leather hats are strong and durable, perfect for cold and wet climates.
The toque is an elegant and versatile style, perfect for both formal and informal occasions. Toques are often lighter and sleeker, yet still provide sufficient warmth.
What fur is used?
Our creations are made of fox, mink, or sheepskin. The fur is sourced from a farm that meets standards and comes from Norway. Mink has a shorter, slightly shinier coat. Fox has a long coat (and for even longer fur, opt for Fine Raccoon!). It can be exuberant for certain creations, but we know which models to make in which fur. Finally, sheepskin has different varieties: curly sheepskin, smooth sheepskin, more or less dense... the best is to try! Our 100% cashmere hats are knitted in Mongolia, in a region specialized in cashmere... Which explains their absolute softness! For fur pieces, it is important to take into account the quality of the materials and the manufacturing to fully appreciate these unique pieces.
When to wear a chapka or a toque?
The chapka is traditionally worn in cold and snowy regions to protect the face, ears, and neck from the cold. It is a hat that offers great protection against the lowest temperatures, thanks to its fur and its cut that covers the head and ears. This makes the chapka ideal for wearing during the winter months or in areas with low temperatures and harsh weather conditions. It is particularly suitable for outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, or outdoor walks...! The chapka has also become a trendy fashion accessory, often worn by women to add a touch of style to their winter outfits. Fur hats can be formal, but they can also sometimes add a touch of casual elegance! Ultimately, the chapka can be worn by anyone, for practical or aesthetic reasons, as long as the weather conditions warrant it. At Courtois Paris, we offer a range of high-quality chapkas to suit all needs, from traditional styles to more modern and trendy designs. If you find these styles too warm or sophisticated, you can also opt for our collection of caps, berets, and hats .
